Spotting Treasure in the Philippine Mangroves
A group of keen birdwatchers made the most of a recent visit to the Puerto Galera Mangrove Conservation in Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. On January 29, Lindsay Hart and Curtis Hart made a brief 7-minute stop at the site, covering a distance of just 0.24 kilometers.
According to the observation data, the duo managed to spot one unique species: the Collared Kingfisher (Halcyon chloris plumbea). This species, known for its deep call and striking plumage, is a notable find for bird enthusiasts in the region.
While their visit was brief, the Hart's observation provides valuable insight into the potential birding opportunities available in the Puerto Galera Mangrove Conservation. Further research and exploration in these areas could potentially uncover a wider variety of species.
