On January 9, 2025, Datulabi Jr. Untong embarked on a birding trip in Taviran, Maguindanao del Norte, Philippines. The stationary observation lasted five minutes, during which time he spotted three fascinating bird species.

The first bird to catch his attention was the Collared Kingfisher (Collared), a striking species known for its vibrant blue and white plumage. A single individual was observed during the brief vigil.

The Philippine Jungle Crow, a common sight in the region, was also present in abundance. A total of eight birds were recorded, showcasing their distinct black plumage.

Rounding out the trio was the Asian Glossy Starling, a stunning bird with iridescent feathers that shimmered in the sunlight. A solitary individual was observed during the observation period.
